MSPO Standards Review

  • Sabarinah & Associates is the Lead Facilitator for the Consortium to review and revise the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Standards MSPO2530:2013 Series and MSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard
  • Work involved extensive stakeholders’ consultation through individual meetings and focus group discussions in-person as well as online
  • Facilitated working groups and technical committee meetings
  • Prepared the draft Standards for public consultation
  • In cooperation with MPOCC and Jabatan Standards Malaysia (JSM)
  • The project was completed in January 2022. The MSPO Standards was launched in March 2022.
  • Develop the MSPO Guidance Documents for MS2530:2022 Series (Part 2-1 to Part 4-3)
  • Client: Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC)

In-house and Public Training

  • In-house ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 training to International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuantan Campus in collaboration with Tinta Strategi Sdn Bhd in 2018
  • In-house Social Impact Assessment training to FGV Holdings Berhad in collaboration with Global Sustainable Solution Sdn Bhd on 23rd & 24th June 2020
  • MSPO Standards (MS 2530:2022) Briefing series to industry players.
    The briefing was conducted in selected major cities throughout Malaysia ie: Sandakan, Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, Kuantan, Taiping, Sungai Petani, Kota Bharu, Melaka and Kuala Terengganu beginning from March to November 2022.
  • Public training on “Awareness of MSPO 2022 Requirements” (Part 3-2) for SIRIM Training Services (STS) on 13th April 2022.
  • In-house training for Palmaju Edible Oil Sdn Bhd on “Understanding of MSPO Requirement and Social Impact Assessment (SIA) for the MS 2530:2022” on 9th & 10th January 2023.
  • Public training on “Understanding of MSPO Requirements”, conducted in Shah Alam, Selangor on 25th & 26th January 2023
  • Public training on “MSPO Documentation”, conducted in Shah Alam, Selangor on 9th & 10th February 2023

  • Social Impact Assessment (SIA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and High Conservation Value (HCV) Assessment for Tanarata Estate, United Plantation Berhad
  • Social and Environmental Impact Assessment (SEIA) for Sime Darby Plantation East, West & Dusun Durian Estate for the parcel of land acquired by Petronas Gas Berhad and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for the NPS36 Pulau Indah Lateral Pipeline (Tulip) and transmission development associated with Pulau Indah Power Plant (PIPP) combined cycle gas-fired power plant (1,200MV) in Pulau Indah, Selangor in collaboration with Wild Asia Sdn Bhd.
  • Social and Environmental Impact Assessment (Scoping) for Sime Darby Plantation Sahua Estate for a parcel of land acquisition by Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) meant for the Proposed Integrated Waste Management System (IWMS) in Samalaju, Bintulu, Sarawak in collaboration with Wild Asia.
  • High Conservation Value (HCV) Assessment for TDM Plantation, Bukit Bidong Estate, Setiu, Terengganu.
  • Social and Environmental Impact Assessment (SEIA) for Hwa Li 2 (JC Chang Group of Companies) in collaboration with Wild Asia Sdn Bhd
